MasterCard announced collaborations with crypto wallets

MasterCard intends to establish collaborations with developers of standalone crypto wallets such as MetaMask and Ledger in the European and UK markets once all terms have been agreed upon.

Through this partnership, MasterCard will promote its services and help crypto wallets increase the number of active users, especially in countries where MasterCard has a strong presence.

MasterCard cardholders will be able to use their cards to pay for services in cryptocurrency and make transfers of digital assets that are stored in the crypto wallet associated with the account.

In addition, MasterCard is developing a global model for the use of stablecoins in the settlement process and seeks to combine Web2 and Web3 technologies by continuing to collaborate with partners on central bank digital currency (CBDC) projects.
