A court in Moscow court fined Coinbase 1m rubles (approximately $10.8k) for not localizing Russian user data, citing a breach of data protection laws.
The move stems from a May directive by Roskomnadzor, with around 600 foreign companies complying by localizing Russian user data. Earlier, Russia fined Telegram, Apple, Spotify, Tinder, Google, Airbnb and Twitch for the same reasons.
