How to run an Aptos validator node

images (8)
Validator nodes run a distributed consensus protocol, execute transactions, and store the transaction and execution results on the blockchain. They decide which transactions will be added to the blockchain and in which order. The Aptos blockchain uses a Byzantine Fault Tolerance (BFT) consensus protocol for validator nodes to agree on the ledger of finalized transactions and their execution results. Validator nodes process these transactions and include them in their local copy of the blockchain database¹.

To run an Aptos validator node, you need to follow these steps:

  1. Install the validator node.
  2. Set up staking and delegation pool operations.
  3. Test the validator node.
  4. Install the validator fullnode.

You can find detailed instructions on how to do this on the Aptos Docs website.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.
