I was on a discord platform of a project yesterday looking for help on a technical issue, someone who claimed to be a moderator tried to direct me by DM to a website to “validate and sync” my wallet which requires input of my seed phrase. I immediately thought something fishy was going on and tried reporting this on the open forum. I was literally in the middle of doing so and was kicked off and banned from the discord server. I suspect either the scammer has hacked the server to be able to do so or the scammer was a moderator! Be careful when interacting with moderators on these official groups, you never know!

Honest mods, never dm users first for any reason. This is positively a red flag. does this project have a name?
