Regards to the POLL I created few days ago.
Now let’s have it…
Here is some candies:candy: for newbies before we move on to talk about the easiest ways of bridging funds in and out of Aptos Blockchain.
[ LEARN THE BASICS OF CRYPTO BRIDGES, WHY THEY ARE USEFUL AND HOW THEY WORK ]
• What is a crypto bridge?
A crypto bridge, or cross-chain bridge, enables the transfer of digital assets and information between different blockchains, addressing the challenge of interoperability in blockchain technology.
• Why are crypto bridges necessary?
Crypto bridges offer benefits such as lower fees and faster transaction times when bridging tokens between blockchains. They are especially useful on networks like Ethereum, where fees are high, and they facilitate DeFi applications by allowing conversion of tokens to preferred blockchains.
• How do crypto bridges work?
Crypto bridges create equivalent tokens representing assets from one blockchain on another blockchain, instead of physically moving the assets. Smart contracts facilitate tracking and usage of these tokens. This approach saves time and reduces fees compared to traditional methods of buying and selling on exchanges.
Now let’s talk about the ways of bridging your funds in and out of Aptos Blockchain.
- ! Did you know that bridging from Aptos to other chains takes a minimum of 500,000 blocks to confirm, which is can take up to 1.5 days or 3 days, but worry less, I have a solution for you if you can endeavour to read this topic to the end.
Here i will be talking about three bridging apps.
1).
.
LiquidSwap Bridge: a bridge widget by LayerZero implemented on Liquidswap that supports 7 assets (USDT, USDC, ETH, WETH, USDD, BTC.b, CAKE) on 7 different blockchains, enabling seamless asset transfers between Aptos and the world of blockchains.

*Note:
-
Bridging from Aptos to other chains takes a minimum of 500,000 blocks to confirm, which is a security measure. If the transfer doesn’t confirm after this timeframe, users can open a ticket on the LayerZero Discord for assistance.
-
$APT tokens are required for gas and registration when bridging USDT or other tokens to Aptos. LayerZero offers a solution by allowing users to airdrop a small amount of $APT to themselves, which requires payment on the origin chain and constitutes a significant portion of the bridge fee.
HOW TO USE LIQUIDSWAP
|
°•°
STEP 1: INSTALL PONTEM WALLET AND CONNECT TO THE MAINNET
To begin, install Pontem Wallet, which is compatible with Aptos. Pontem Wallet is available as a Chrome extension and supports various Aptos dApps. Download the wallet and follow the standard wallet creation process, ensuring you securely save the seed phrase (note that recovery feature is not available yet, but it is planned for future implementation).
|
°•°
STEP 2: CONNECT TO LIQUIDSWAP BRIDGE
Access the Liquidswap Bridge page and agree to the Terms and Conditions. Click on the Connect button.
Select MetaMask as the source wallet and Pontem as the destination. Confirm the connection prompts from both wallets, and note that this transaction does not require any gas fees.
|

STEP 3: PICK THE CHAIN TO BRIDGE FROM
Liquidswap Bridge supports 7 different assets on 7 different blockchains. Each asset can be bridged to specific chains. The supported assets include USDT, USDC, ETH, WETH, USDD, BTC.b, and CAKE. The section also mentions that it won’t cover installation processes or other swapping procedures, but provides a few helpful tips.
• Bridge fee check: How to estimate fees
Bridging fees can vary depending on the chain and currency being used.
To estimate fees, users should select the desired chain and currency on the Liquidswap Bridge page and check the APT value displayed next to “Gas on Destination.” Different fee options are available, such as None, Medium, and High, with corresponding amounts of APT for gas. Users should ensure they have enough APT for claiming bridged tokens and swapping them.
• ‘Not enough native for gas’ error
It is important to have enough native coins (such as ETH, BNB, MATIC, etc.) to cover gas fees. If there is insufficient balance, a warning message will be displayed.
• Liquidity and Liquidswap price check
Before bridging an asset, it is advised to check the liquidity and exchange rates in the Liquidswap pools that feature that asset. This helps ensure favorable rates and sufficient reserves. If liquidity is low or the exchange rate is unfavorable, it may be better to bridge a different token.
• Doesn’t make sense to bridge a token that has less than $5 in liquidity
Tokens with low liquidity, specifically less than $5, may not be worth bridging due to limited trading opportunities.
• Level up to complex schemes
Experienced users can explore more complex bridging schemes. An example is swapping BUSD tokens for USDC on PancakeSwap and then bridging them to Aptos. The section encourages users to gain proficiency in bridging processes, becoming skilled “bridgers” in the crypto community.

STEP 4: BRIDGE!
This example explains how to bridge USDT from BNB Chain to Aptos network using MetaMask. Connect to BNB Chain, select USDT BNB Chain as source, USDT Aptos as target, enter transfer amount, refresh if MetaMask balance is incorrect.
After clicking on Transfer, a popup will appear asking you to confirm the transaction. MetaMask will open and prompt you to set a spending cap for the token if you haven’t done so earlier. You can set it to Max if you want to send the entire amount in your wallet.
Review the transaction, approve it, and confirm the estimated gas fee. In this case, the gas fee is 0.001 BNB, and an additional fee of 0.009 BNB is required for dropping APT for gas, resulting in a total fee of 0.01 BNB (around $3), which is considered favorable.
Upon successful completion of the bridging process, users will receive a reminder to claim the tokens. It is common for users to inquire about the whereabouts of the bridged tokens, but often the reason is simply that they forgot to claim them.
|
°•°
STEP 5: CLAIM
Users will see a Claim button above the bridging window. This button will appear relatively quickly on the BNB Chain, but it may take longer on Ethereum.
At this stage, if you check your Pontem Wallet, you will find that the APT gas airdrop is visible, but the USDT tokens may not be visible yet.
To proceed, click on the Claim button and confirm the action in your Pontem Wallet. The gas fee for this step should be approximately 0.003 APT, which is less than $0.1.
Congratulations! The USDT tokens have been successfully transferred and can now be found in your wallet.
What if it says ‘Failed’?
If the widget displays a transaction as ‘Failed’, it is usually due to longer execution times. However, the tokens are not lost. To check the status, click on the small square icon on the left to go to LayerZero Scan, where it will likely show as ‘Delivered’. Save the transaction hash, refresh the page, or wait a little longer.
Once successful, you can start swapping USDT on Liquidswap. Additionally, you have the option to test the bridge with other tokens, blockchains, or wallets if desired.

STEP 6: CONNECT TO LIQUIDSWAP AND SWAP
Go to Liquidswap – the 1st DEX on Aptos and connect Pontem Wallet to the DEX.
In the Swap tab, select LayerZero USDT in the top field and APT in the bottom field for swapping USDT to APT.
Choose Unstable as the option, as the prices of these assets are not correlated. Enter the amount of USDT you wish to swap to determine the corresponding amount of APT you will receive.
Before completing the swap, check that there is sufficient liquidity in the pool to minimize price impact (0.39% in this case). Activate frontrunning protection by clicking on the red lock icon next to the settings gear. Adjust the slippage in Settings if necessary (0.50% is recommended for the first time to ensure transaction success).
Review the values, click on the Swap button, confirm the transaction in the swap popup, select Send Transaction, and finally confirm it in the Pontem Wallet. The gas fee for the swap should be covered by the $APT received as an airdrop from LayerZero.
If you get a ‘Simulation failed: out of gas’ warning, try clicking on Gas Fee and click on Set Optimal Gas. If you don’t have enough APT to pay that amount, you risk that the swap will fail. You can also wait for a bit: the optimal amount of gas for a swap varies according to network load.
That’s it: you’ve just purchased APT, the official coin of the Aptos blockchain! You should see it in the wallet balance.
Note:
- If you choose to buy a different token, such as USDC, using Liquidswap, you will need to register it in your wallet. This process incurs a small gas fee for the transaction.

Step 7: BRIDGING BACK FROM APTOS TO EVM BLOCKCHAINS
The LayerZero bridge supports two-way transfers, allowing you to send tokens like USDC, USDT, etc., from Aptos to Ethereum, BNB Chain, and other networks. However, it’s important to be cautious about gas fees, especially during periods of high network congestion. You can estimate the gas fees by adjusting the Gas at Destination settings (None - Medium - High) in the widget.
To send USDT back from Aptos to BNB Chain, set the origin and destination chains accordingly. If you have enough BNB in your MetaMask wallet, you can select None for Gas on Destination to minimize the bridging fee.

When sending USDT from Aptos to BNB Chain, take note of the gas fee (0.017 APT). Additionally, be aware that the standard transfer time is typically 3-4 days, so it is normal to see an estimated processing time of 4000+ minutes. After this period, you will be able to claim your funds. Unfortunately, there is no way to expedite the process due to security reasons.
Once you confirm the transfer, a countdown timer will appear in the widget. You can check the transaction status on LayerZero Scan by clicking on Aptos → BNB Chain, but please note that the information may not be immediately available.
Important!
- Always copy and save the bridge transaction hash (the one after Message Details) so that you can look it up on LayerZero Scan later if something goes wrong.
